Potato and Balik smoked salmon gravlax rösti recipe
A gourmet recipe, combining the melt-in-the-mouth flavour of our sliced gravlax salmon with the crunch of freshly baked potato pancakes.
This dish also features and intriguing play of hot and cold textures that will be a hit with your guests!
Serves 4
Ingredients
8 potatoes
2 eggs
2 onions
Flour
Salt
pepper
olive oil
2 packets Balik sliced gravlax salmon
Method
1) Wash the potatoes. Peel them using a vegetable peeler. Wash and peel the onions. Coarsely grate the onions and potatoes.
2) Mix the potatoes and grated onion in a bowl. Add the 2 eggs and 3 spoonfuls of flour. Season with salt and pepper and mix well.
3) Drizzle the oil into the frying pan. Using a large spoon, shape half your mixture into 2 medium-sized patties.
Cook the patties until golden brown on both sides. Repeat with the other half of the mixture.
Meanwhile, open the salmon gravlax packets.
4) Once cooked, place each potato pancake on a plate.
5) Arrange 2 slices of gravlax salmon on each pancake.
Optional: garnish with a dash of lemon cream.
